Spring-Klein Chamber Celebrates Annual Christmas in July Gala with Special Guest Congressman Ted Poe SPRING, TX - The Spring-Klein Chamber of Commerce (SKCC) announced today that their annual Christmas in July Gala will be celebrated on Friday, July 31, 2010 at 6:30 p.m at the Augusta Pines Savannahs, 18 Augusta Pines in Spring, Texas. Congressman Ted Poe will speak at the event as the Chamber's special guest for the evening.
"We are so appreciative of the continued support that we have received from our representatives and the community," said Toni Richard, president and co-founder of the SKCC. "The Christmas in July Gala is becoming somewhat of a tradition hear in Spring and to enjoy it again at Augusta Pines where it first began really brings it full circle."
Each year, during the gala, the Chamber awards the Annual SKCC Toni Award for Business of the Year to recognize the business that has made measurable service contributions to the chamber and its member businesses. Runaas Resources LLC, a public relations company, received last year's award for 2009 Business of the Year. Funds raised from ticket sales, directory advertising, and the silent auction are used to further increase awareness about the Chamber, boost membership and contribute to the overall economic health of the community.
"I have been involved with the Chamber since its inception," says Marchel Peterson, Events Committee Chair. "It's been exciting to be a part of the growth of this Chamber and we especially appreciate Congressman Ted Poe's show of support by his speaking at this event."
Poe was sworn in to serve a third term representing the Second Congressional District of Texas in the United States House of Representatives in January 2009,. The Second Congressional District stretches east from northern Harris County, through Liberty County, and encompasses all of Jefferson County to the southeast Texas border.
The 2010 Christmas in July Gala will feature a silent auction, holiday décor, dancing and live music. Tickets for the event are on sale now at the special early bird offer of $50 for chamber members and $55 for non-members until July 15th. After July 15th, the ticket prices will be $60 for members and $65 for non-members.
The SKCC is soliciting donations for door prizes and auction items, as well as underwriters and advertisers for the event program which will also serve as a directory for the community. To learn about sponsorship of the event, purchase tickets, or contribute to the auction, please visit us online at www.springkleinchamber.org or contact Marchel Peterson, Event Chair, via email
