THRIVE: The Official Spring-Klein Chamber of Commerce Newsletter
Greetings!
This month we welcome Jeff Daiell, the Libertarian candidate for Texas Governor, to our luncheon. Mr. Daiell will discuss the political philosophy of the Libertarian party and their vision for Texas. We invite you to join us and ask Mr. Daiell the hard questions. I am sure he welcomes the challenge. Make plans to join us Tuesday, June 1st at 11:30 (details within this newsletter). RSVP today.
CHRISTMAS IN JULY GALA 2010: Our annual celebration is fast approaching. The CIJ committee is meeting THIS Friday, May 28 at 9:00 a.m.at Chick-fil-A at 5905 FM 2920, to discuss the event's speaker, the printing of the SKCC directory, which will be unveiled at the Gala and other thrilling developments. Event Chair, Marchel Peterson: "All are welcome to come to the meeting on Friday. Your help is needed!" Holly Munsinger provides an update on the directory in the Christmas in July article below.
BOARD MEMBER UPDATE: Holly Munsinger, Siboney Trevino-Toth and Terry McDougle, current nominees for SKCC Board members, are running for the three (3) open Chamber board member positions. Marchel Peterson, Candace Runaas and Toni Richard have completed their first two-year terms. Candace Runaas will serve a second term for Board continuity, if re-elected, to maintain a 5-member board. Toni Richard will continue as Chamber President but only serve as an SKCC board member when necessary to provide a quorum. Tracy Bhatnagar is completing her first year of her two-year term of board service. Therefore, the proposed SKCC Board: Candace Runaas of Runaas Resources LLC, Tracy Bhatnagar of IBC Bank, Siboney Trevino-Toth of Aflac Insurance, Holly Munsinger of Chick-fil-A, and Terry McDougle of Terry McDougle Homes. Nominations will be accepted from the floor during the June Luncheon. Elections will follow immediately after the final call for nominations.
We invite you to be an active part of the Chamber and impact the Spring business community. For more information on membership, becoming a board member or serving on our various SKCC committees, e-mail us at

Christmas in July Gala 2010
"Christmas in July" will come to Augusta Pines on July 31 this year, sponsored by the Spring-Klein Chamber of Commerce. That night the historic first edition of the Spring-Klein Chamber's membership directory will be distributed along with the event's program. The directory will be "purse sized," approximately 8 ½" x 7", so you can carry it in your handbag or take it in your car, and you can refer to it often as you go about your daily business. The directory will have current contact information for everyone who is a member and has provided his/her information as of our deadline date, July 15, 2010. The purpose of this letter is threefold. 1. To remind everyone to be sure your membership is current. (Some of the people on our email list failed to renew.) Only current paid members will be listed in this directory. 2. To remind everyone to update contact information for yourself and for your business. The directory won't be reprinted for at least a year. 3. To provide you with information about advertising prices. Only current paid members will be allowed to run ads in this directory. Description Size Investment Full page 6 ½" x 5" $150. Half page 3" x 5" $100. Quarter page 3 " x 2 ¼" $ 75. Eighth page 1 ½" x 2 ¼" $ 50. Back cover - outside 6 ½ " x 5" $500. Back cover - inside 6 ½" x 5" $250. Any advertisement you place in this publication will be seen and referred to regularly for at least the next year. It will be distributed to Chamber members and may be passed along to others in our community. Because this directory will be a "keeper," its advertising will pay off month after month, and hence will be of more value than a similar size ad placed in a newspaper or a shorter-lived publication. See the attached Ad Page for more details on ads.
If you have any questions; please feel free to ask myself or any of the Events Committee Members.
